| Biography
Sherrill J. Jones is a graduate of the University of Maryland, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiological Science, with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. She has 10 years experience working in healthcare as an Athletic Trainer, and Outpatient Physical Therapy Office Manager.
Sherrill has enjoyed diverse careers including owner/manager of a health club; an independent manufacturers' sales representative (covering a four-state territory); a chef at a golf course; office manager of a large interior design firm; customer service representative for an import/export company; infant clothing designer & manufacturer; and continues as a fashion jewelry designer & manufacturer.
While her personal business continues to expand, Sherrill has become the coordinator for the after-school program at Alicia Sanchez Elementary School. This is a Title I school -- and the program is funded through a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. She will continue to substitute teach when she can, in Boulder Valley Schools... teaching K-12. It's just another of the challenges that keeps Sherrill very busy. This is the last year of the grant and we will be looking for another sponsor, grant or a combination of monies to keep our program up and running. Through the years, Sherrill has honed her skills through her work experiences and through continuing education. Sherrill loves the challenge of learning, and is constantly taking courses to keep her up to date on developments in computer applications.
Over the years Sherrill opened her home to students and staff of the international organization, Up with People. She hosted over 30 young people from nine countries, during the "Summer and Winter Stagings." Most recently she hosted 2 young people traveling in the World Smart Program of Up with People. Thanks to another of her Up With People Kids -- she has become aware of the needs of several children who are fighting their own battles with Childhood Leukemia... These little warriors could use all of our support and prayers... Please visit these kids online and let them know that you care... This site links several of the kids from CaringBridge -- it is put together by a family in Winnepeg, Canada, whose own little girl, Julianna "Banana", is a warrior in the fight against Childhood Cancer. Sherrill also finds time in her busy schedule to volunteer... At her church, Our Merciful Savior Episcopal Church -- helping with various aspects of the church community...
Each career and personal change has added new elements to Sherrill's life skills, and ultimately to her work skills. Making her a "Jill of all trades... and Master of most."
